For users of EASFileCap, the EAS message
capture application for the Hollyanne HU-961 has a new upgrade. Final release
should be available in September. New features include the ability to archive
old messages, both manually and at one or two year intervals. Archives can
be opened and viewed on the Captures page. Archiving prevents the message
title list from getting too cluttered. The serial port connection can be reset
with 1, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hour intervals to insure greater reliability after
a power loss or reboot. The message text displayed, along with the saved
capture, has the correct Julian date, received time, and expired time. The
HU-961 resets these settings during a power loss. Keep checking this site
for more details.

Audio function generator AgFX is available
on the Broadcast Downloads page. It provides continuous tone along with fast,
slow, and step sweep using log or linear rate. Half-octave markers are available
for slow sweep. Also it has R, L, L+R, L-R, and independant or tracking levels.
Although it's still a beta release, AgFX tests show promise and performance
seems primarily limited by the sound card. The only requirement is email
registration so demand can be determined for further development.

Use a Table of Contents (TOC) in your own site like the one to the left. After
you save the page on your system view the source code in a text editor like
Notepad. WordPad might be a better choice because the line breaks will remain
if you open with a Rich Text Format (*.rtf) or Unicode Document (*.txt) choice
located in the drop down list in the file open dialog box. The source is
heavily commented to help you edit and create your own TOC.
open the page in a new browser window, then
save.

Freeman Labs provides services in broadcast
engineering, computer networking and software developement. Hopefully you are using the latest version of your favorite
browser to take full advantage of site features. This site uses frames to provide easier use of the Table
Of Contents shown on the left. So it is suggested that you have frames enabled.
The TOC uses Java Script to provide a flexible interface to site navigation.
Clicking on the bullit graphics will expand or compress the view of listed
items. Selecting the underlined text will open that page. Viewing in a display
resolution less than 800 x 600 may make this site more difficult to use.
Also the graphics are best viewed at 16 bit or greater color depth. |
